Transcapital NBFI is actively supporting the “One Billion Trees” national movement, initiated by the President of Mongolia. As part of this effort, the Mongolian Non-Bank Financial Institutions Association committed to planting and growing 2.75 million trees over 10 years. In addition, the Association signed a long-term memorandum of cooperation with the Ulaanbaatar City Environmental Department to implement this initiative.
To bring this meaningful project to life, member institutions of the Association collectively planted over 1,200 trees at the “Seedling Breeding and Adaptation Center” in Gachuurt, marking the beginning of the MNBFIA-branded “Arboretum”.
Transcapital NBFI’s young professionals planted 100 trees, contributing to the environment. Transcapital NBFI’s CEO and President of MNBFIA, Altanzul.Z, emphasized:
“We are inaugurating a model arboretum created through the collaboration of government, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector. Member institutions will expand their tree plantations across Mongolia, contributing to a reduction of 600,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. This arboretum marks the starting point of our members’ larger efforts to protect the environment.”
Additionally, in 2022, Transcapital planted and cultivated a total of 7,200 trees in areas such as Bogd Khan Mountain and Kharkhorin soum in Uvurkhangai province to expand forest cover.
Since 2020, Transcapital has been a pioneer in introducing international best practices and standards for managing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks in the Mongolian non-bank financial sector. The institution assesses the ESG risks of each client, prevents financing of environmentally harmful activities, and provides guidance to help clients conduct business sustainably and responsibly.
