Transcapital NBFI continues to support women entrepreneurs through the Central Asia Women in Business Program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Under this program, Transcapital organized its 6th seminar titled: “Learning to Manage Personal and Household Finances Effectively.”
During the seminar, participants were introduced to the Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC), which provides comprehensive financial and non-financial services to help women entrepreneurs grow their businesses to the next level.
The EDC is designed to:
- Create a collaborative growth space for women entrepreneurs.
- Offer flexible loan products tailored to their business needs and goals.
- Provide training, seminars, and workshops for both financial and personal development.
- Facilitate networking, knowledge exchange meetings, and experience-sharing events.
- Deliver online resources and advisory services for MSMEs.
The center also collaborates with the Ulaanbaatar Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center (SME Center), engaging women entrepreneurs from micro and small businesses across the city.
During the seminar, participant B. Uuganzaya shared:“The most important thing is not just to attend the training, but to apply it in practice. I aim to set an example through my own work. I am grateful to Transcapital for offering these valuable learning opportunities that open new possibilities.”
She explained that since the COVID-19 pandemic, direct sales had become challenging, and her business income decreased. Participating in the ED Center’s online training through the Central Asia Women in Business Program helped her explore new business opportunities. Remembering her childhood interest in knitting, she learned through YouTube how to make knitted shoes, which allowed her to expand her business.
Through its 36 branches in Ulaanbaatar and across the country, Transcapital ensures that the ED Center’s services reach women entrepreneurs nationwide.
Regarding the program, Ts. Otgontsetseg, Deputy CEO and Head of Operations at Transcapital NBFI, emphasized:
“Transcapital NBFI is the first financial institution to implement the Central Asia Women in Business Program in Mongolia. This initiative is funded by the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) and is currently active in four Central Asian countries: Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.”
